Day 6 - House Of The Rising Sun

A night to rest was the best. On the morning I was good. 
Locke, Kate, Charlie and me were gonna look for water in the cave. We got ready for it. 
I changed my shirt for another one whose sleeves annoyed me, so I took them off. In that moment Kate saw the tatoos I had on my left arm. She was intrigued. At any cost she wanted I tell her the meaning of them, hahaha. But, I didn't tell her. That was something private. She insisted and joked. She said they didn't correspond with my personality.
At least, we had something funny that day
Una noche con descanso fue lo mejor. En la mañana ya estaba mejor.
Locke, Kate, Charlie y yo nos alistamos para ir a buscar agua a la cueva.
Me cambie la camisa y como las mangas me eran incómodas se las arranqué. Cuando Kate vio los tatúes que tengo en mi brazo izquierdo se acercó intrigada. A toda costa quería que le dijera que significado tenían, jajaja. Pero no se lo dije. Eso es algo privado. Ella insistía y bromeaba con que no encajaban con mi personalidad.
Al menos este día teníamos algo por lo que bromear.

We arrived to the cave. Kate asked me how I had met that place. The only thing I could said was, thanks to Locke.
Once within, I asked to Charlie to revise among the rest of the plane to look for medicine, drugs and everything that was usefull. The rest of us filled bottles of water. On a moment I didn't know where Charlie was.

Locke went out of the cave and called for us. Apparently Charlie was standing on a beehive. I had never seen before something like that. A beehive on the floor. 
Llegamos a la cueva. Kate me preguntó cómo la había encontrado. Solo pude decirle que fue por Locke.
Una vez adentro, le pedí a Charlie que revisara entre los restos del avión para buscar medicina, drogas, todo lo que me sirviera. Los demás nos pusimos a llenar botellas con agua. Por un momento no supe a donde había ido Charlie.

Locke salió fuera de la cueva y nos llamó. Al parecer Charlie se había parado justo encima de una colmena de abejas. Nunca había visto algo igual. Una colmena hecha en el suelo.

Locke indicated him not to move and I looked for a suitcase to put it over the beehive while Charlie ran. But in a bad movement Charlie broke the beehive and everybody had to scape from the bees.
Kate and me ran to the cave and we put out part of our clothes to scared away the bees.
Locke le indicaba que no se moviera y yo fui a buscar una valija para tratar de tapar la colmena mientras Charlie salía corriendo. Pero en un mal movimiento Charlie rompió la colmena y todos tuvimos que huir de las abejas. 
Kate y yo corrimos hacia la cueva y nos sacamos parte de la ropa para ayudar a espantarlas.

When at last they had gone, we were surprised by something else. Two corpses lying on the side. Kate was scared. I revised them to know if something told us about where they came from. They must have fallen on the island long ago, and should have died there

Cuando por fin se habían ido nos encontramos con una sorpresa. Dos cadáveres recostados cerca de las paredes de la cueva.

Kate se asustó mucho. Yo los revisé para ver si había algo que nos indicara de donde provenían. Debían haber caído en la isla mucho antes que nosotros y allí perecieron. 

I did an analysis of the degradation of the clothes and I figured that to get to that state should have been there at least 40 or 50 years.
Looking at their rags I found a small bag with two stones inside. One white and one black. We did not know it could mean.
Hice un análisis sobre la degradación de las vestimentas y calculé que para llegar a ese estado debían haber estado allí al menos unos 40 o 50 años. Uno de ellos parecía ser mujer. Buscando en sus andrajos encontré una pequeña bolsa con dos piedras dentro. Una blanca y una negra. No supimos que podría significar.

On that moment Charlie and Locke entered in the cave.  They had many bites but they were fine. Charlie gave to Kate her t-shirt. He looked at her slyly. 
When Locke knew about the corpses he approached quickly. I prefered he didn't know  because he seemed to be a bit crazy. But Charlie couldn't shut his mouth. 
Locke said they could be our Adán and Eve.
En ese momento Charlie y Locke llegaron a la cueva, con varias picaduras pero a salvo. Charlie traía la remera de Kate en sus manos. Cuando Locke se enteró de los cadáveres presuroso se acercó. Yo hubiera preferido que no lo supiera porque parecía ser un poco loco, pero Charlie no pudo cerrar su boca.
Según Locke, estos podrían ser nuestros Adán y Eva.

While we were collecting water, I thought it was gonna be a hard work. Going and coming everyday to give water for 46 persons. I watched the place. It was covered, protected from the sun and rain, had water, it was fresh. We didn't have to take the water to the people. We could bring the people to the water.
I felt it was a good refuge. Apparently, it had been good for "Adan and Eve".
Mientras juntábamos el agua me puse a pensar que sería un arduo trabajo ir y venir todos los días para cubrir la sed de 46 personas. Observé el lugar, estaba cubierto, guaresía del sol y de la lluvia, tenía agua, era fresco. Por qué teníamos que llevar el agua a la gente. Por qué no mejor traíamos la gente al agua.
Yo sentía que ese era un buen refugio. Al parecer lo había sido para "Adán y Eva".

Kate and me returned to the beach. Locke stayed whith Charlie.

We made an stop. The bags were heavies and it was so hot. Kate bent to fit the shoes while I was thinking. Suddenly she asked me if I was looking at her ass, hahaha. WHAT? I said. And she insisted. I told her I was thinking in how to organize the transfer of the people from the beach to the caves. And I told her that if I were looking at her in that way, she would know it. 
Kate y yo volvimos a la playa. Locke se quedó ayudando a Charlie.

Hicimos una parada. La carga era pesada y hacía mucho calor. Kate se agachó para acomodarse las zapatillas y yo me quedé pensando. De pronto ella me preguntó si le estaba mirando el trasero, jajaja. Que? le dije. Y ella insistió. Le dije que estaba pensando en como organizar lo de llevar la gente a las cuevas y que si estuviera mirándola así, ella se enteraría.

In our way, we met Sayid. He was chopping wood. He was thirsty so he was happy to meet us. 
He told us that Jin, the corean man, had fought with Michael. Sayid had let him for a while tied under the sun up to find the way to communicate with the corean couple. He thought his wife, Sun, knew the cause of the fight.
I was very confident with Sayid. He seemed to be a great leader. I told him if he had everything under control in the beach, it would be easier to tell everybody about the caves.
En nuestro camino nos topamos con Sayid que estaba cortando leña. Estaba sediento así que nos recibió con mucha alegría.
Nos contó que Jin, el coreano, se había peleado con Michael. Sayid lo había dejado atado al sol por un rato, hasta ver como podrían comunicarse con ellos. El pensaba que su esposa Sun sabía la causa de la discusión.
Yo estaba muy confiado con Sayid. Me parecía un gran líder. Le dije que si el tenía todo bajo control en la playa, sería mas fácil comunicarles a todos sobre las cuevas.

But, when I told him about my plan, he got angry. He didn't want we stay hidden. He thought it was a suicide. He said if a group had to stay on the caves, and another on the beach, my speech of the previous night had no sense. I had said live together or die alone.
He also asked me if there were some reason for taking that decision without asking anybody.

I told him take shelter, was the only way to survive. But he insisted on that our best hopes were in being spotted by a plane or a ship, do not remain hidden.
He was furious with me and he went out.

I didn't believe that I was wrong, the only thing I wanted was to protect the group.
Pero cuando le conté mi plan se enojó. El no quería que nos escondiéramos. Para él eso sería un suicidio. Me cuestionó mi discurso de la noche anterior. Decía que si un grupo tenía que quedarse en la playa y otro en las cuevas, nada tenía que ver lo que yo había dicho sobre vivir juntos o morir solos. Además me preguntó si había alguna razón para que yo tomara esa decisión sin preguntar al resto.
Yo le dije que guarecernos sería la única manera de sobrevivir.
Pero el me insistió que nuestras mejores esperanzas eran que un avión o un barco nos viera desde la playa.
Sayid se enojó conmigo y se marchó con la leña.
Yo no creía estar actuando mal, sólo tenía la intensión de aliviar al grupo. 

When we arrived to the beach I could see the scenery of the fight. 
I gave some water to Jin and I told him to drink it slowly
Cuando llegamos a la playa pude ver el escenario de la pelea. Le acerqué agua a Jin y como pude le dije que tomara de a poco.

I asked some of the survivors if they agreed with the idea to go to the caves. When I approached to Hurley, he asked me if Kate and me had a private cave, hahaha. Everybody suggested that something was happening between us. And to be honest, I didn't have the answer...
Luego le pregunté a algunos si estaban de acuerdo con ir a las cuevas. Cuando me acerqué a Hurley, el me preguntó si teníamos una cueva para Kate y para mi, jajaja. Todo el mundo sugería que algo estaba sucediendo entre nosotros. Y la verdad que no sabía que pensar...

I thought it was obvious that Kate would go with us to the caves. So, I approached to her to ask her if she was ready. But she didn't want to come. She told me she couldn't be Eva. She couldn't be hidden. 
I couldn't understand why she didn't want to come, because there were people that was gonna stay there. On that moment I couldn't shut up and asked her, what she had done to be a fugitive.
Creía que era obvio que Kate iría con nosotros a las cuevas y me acerqué a preguntarle si estaba lista, pero ella no quería ir. Me dijo que no podía ser Eva. Que no podía esconderse. Yo no entendía por qué no podía venir con nosotros si había gente que podía quedarse allí. Por un momento no pude contenerme y le pregunté qué había hecho. 

But, she was cold on her reply. She told me I had had my chance to know.
I couldn't understand which was the necessity of being ready in case of someone come to rescue us. The only thing I was sure was, she wanted to escape.
Pero ella fue muy fría en su respuesta. Me dijo que ya había tenido la chance de saberlo.
No entendía cual era la necesidad de estar al pie del cañón en caso de que un salvataje apareciera. Solo se que ella quería huir.

I couldn't follow her. I had another objective. To help all these people until something else happen
I left to the caves. I can't deny I felt disappointed.

I took people to the caves. Once there, everybody looked for his place. They seemed to be happy.
I sat in front of the campfire and I thought. I thought, which was the secret she was hidding and why it was upsetting me so much. I asked myself why I needed her, if 6 days ago I hadn't known her.
That night I felt the lonelyness.
No pude seguirla, yo tenía un objetivo, ayudar a esa gente hasta que algo mejor sucediera.
Me marche hacia las cuevas. No puedo negar que estaba decepcionado.

Lleve a la gente a las cuevas. Una vez allí todos se fueron acomodando. Parecían contentos.
Me senté frente a una fogata y pensé. Pensé qué sería lo que ocultaba esa chica que me estaba trastornando tanto. Me preguntaba por que la necesitaba así, si la había conocido solo hacía 6 días.
Esa noche sentí la soledad.
