Day 6 - House Of The Rising Sun

A night to rest was the best. On the morning I was good.
Locke, Kate, Charlie and me were gonna look for water in the cave. We got ready for it.
I changed my shirt for another one whose sleeves annoyed me, so I took them off. In that moment Kate saw the tatoos I had on my left arm. She was intrigued. At any cost she wanted I tell her the meaning of them, hahaha. But, I didn't tell her. That was something private. She insisted and joked. She said they didn't correspond with my personality.
At least, we had something funny that day

We arrived to the cave. Kate asked me how I had met that place. The only thing I could said was, thanks to Locke.
Once within, I asked to Charlie to revise among the rest of the plane to look for medicine, drugs and everything that was usefull. The rest of us filled bottles of water. On a moment I didn't know where Charlie was.

Locke went out of the cave and called for us. Apparently Charlie was standing on a beehive. I had never seen before something like that. A beehive on the floor.

Locke indicated him not to move and I looked for a suitcase to put it over the beehive while Charlie ran. But in a bad movement Charlie broke the beehive and everybody had to scape from the bees.
Kate and me ran to the cave and we put out part of our clothes to scared away the bees.

When at last they had gone, we were surprised by something else. Two corpses lying on the side. Kate was scared. I revised them to know if something told us about where they came from. They must have fallen on the island long ago, and should have died there

I did an analysis of the degradation of the clothes and I figured that to get to that state should have been there at least 40 or 50 years.
Looking at their rags I found a small bag with two stones inside. One white and one black. We did not know it could mean.

On that moment Charlie and Locke entered in the cave.  They had many bites but they were fine. Charlie gave to Kate her t-shirt. He looked at her slyly.
When Locke knew about the corpses he approached quickly. I prefered he didn't know  because he seemed to be a bit crazy. But Charlie couldn't shut his mouth.
Locke said they could be our Adán and Eve.

While we were collecting water, I thought it was gonna be a hard work. Going and coming everyday to give water for 46 persons. I watched the place. It was covered, protected from the sun and rain, had water, it was fresh. We didn't have to take the water to the people. We could bring the people to the water.
I felt it was a good refuge. Apparently, it had been good for "Adan and Eve".

Kate and me returned to the beach. Locke stayed whith Charlie.

We made an stop. The bags were heavies and it was so hot. Kate bent to fit the shoes while I was thinking. Suddenly she asked me if I was looking at her ass, hahaha. WHAT? I said. And she insisted. I told her I was thinking in how to organize the transfer of the people from the beach to the caves. And I told her that if I were looking at her in that way, she would know it.

In our way, we met Sayid. He was chopping wood. He was thirsty so he was happy to meet us.
He told us that Jin, the corean man, had fought with Michael. Sayid had let him for a while tied under the sun up to find the way to communicate with the corean couple. He thought his wife, Sun, knew the cause of the fight.
I was very confident with Sayid. He seemed to be a great leader. I told him if he had everything under control in the beach, it would be easier to tell everybody about the caves.

But, when I told him about my plan, he got angry. He didn't want we stay hidden. He thought it was a suicide. He said if a group had to stay on the caves, and another on the beach, my speech of the previous night had no sense. I had said live together or die alone.
He also asked me if there were some reason for taking that decision without asking anybody.

I told him take shelter, was the only way to survive. But he insisted on that our best hopes were in being spotted by a plane or a ship, do not remain hidden.
He was furious with me and he went out.

I didn't believe that I was wrong, the only thing I wanted was to protect the group.

When we arrived to the beach I could see the scenery of the fight.
I gave some water to Jin and I told him to drink it slowly

I asked some of the survivors if they agreed with the idea to go to the caves. When I approached to Hurley, he asked me if Kate and me had a private cave, hahaha. Everybody suggested that something was happening between us. And to be honest, I didn't have the answer...

I thought it was obvious that Kate would go with us to the caves. So, I approached to her to ask her if she was ready. But she didn't want to come. She told me she couldn't be Eva. She couldn't be hidden.
I couldn't understand why she didn't want to come, because there were people that was gonna stay there. On that moment I couldn't shut up and asked her, what she had done to be a fugitive.

But, she was cold on her reply. She told me I had had my chance to know.
I couldn't understand which was the necessity of being ready in case of someone come to rescue us. The only thing I was sure was, she wanted to escape.

I couldn't follow her. I had another objective. To help all these people until something else happen
I left to the caves. I can't deny I felt disappointed.

I took people to the caves. Once there, everybody looked for his place. They seemed to be happy.
I sat in front of the campfire and I thought. I thought, which was the secret she was hidding and why it was upsetting me so much. I asked myself why I needed her, if 6 days ago I hadn't known her.
That night I felt the lonelyness.

Day 5 - The White Rabbit

I was looking at the sea. It was a quiet morning. I remembered my childhood. Sad moments with my dad. He was always with his whisky and his strictness...

At that moment I listened my name. It was Charlie who was asking me for help. A woman was drowning and he didn't know to swim

Inmediately, I went to help. I ran and I jumped into the water. My heart was racing speed. I stopped to see where that woman was, but I couldn't find her.
I dove to try to see her from under the water. I tried it several times until I finally  could find a body. I brought it to the surface and I discovered that the person who was drowning was Bonne.
Enseguida me dispuse a ayudar.

I tried to calm him, but he told me there was a woman in the water yet. When I looked to the back I could see her. Apparently, Bonne had entered to the water to rescue her, but it became a complication.
Although he resisted to abandon the rescue, I brought him to the beach, and without any rest I returned to the water. I looked and looked for, but I couldn't find the woman. Finally, she drowned.

I was so tired, but I couldn't stop. While I tidied the luggages, Kate approached to me. I felt I had abandoned that woman. I hadn't done enough for her. I had taken the decision to leave her there. And then she died.

Kate tried to alleviate my pain. At that moment I saw that strange man again, this time he was standing in the water. I asked Kate if she had also seen him, but she didn't. I looked at the beach again and he wasn't anymore.
I felt disorientated. Kate asked me how many hours I had slept lately, but I couldn't remember.

Me sentía desorientado.

I continued with the luggage. Hurley and Charlie approached to me to tell me something was wrong. They showed me the few remaining  bottles of water. They had them saved on a luggage. They wanted I give them a solution. But I didn't know how to solve it. I was tired, exhausted. They insisted, they wanted that I decide something. It put me in a bad mood and answered them in a bad way. It seemed to be that I had to solve everything in that place. I felt the heavy weight of the responsability over my shoulders.

I always had received the same message from my father. Mi father, hahaha. He said I shouldn't choose, I shouldn't decide, because when I failed, I would not have what was needed

Bonne took me out of my thoughts. He was angry, He questioned me why I had rescued him and I hadn't rescued the woman. He felt wounded on his pride because, apparently, he was a lifeguard, it was his business. But, this time, he had been rescued instead of the victim.
I didn't want to argue with him, but he insisted. I told him I had nothing to say, but Bonne was enraged. I didn't know how to avoid him

Suddenly, the strange man surprised to me again.
I left Bonne talking alone and ran to the grove.

This time, I managed to catch him. He was there, standing up, backward. Dressed on his blue suit, just as I remembered.
My heart came out of my mouth. I was scared. It couldn't be him.
He was standing up, as if he was waiting for me.
I decided to touch him to prove if it was a dream, an mirage built by my mind, because of my tireness.
When I was about to touch him, he turned around.
I couldn't believe my eyes. This guy who had been perturbing me all this time seemed to be my father. My father!!. But this...this could not be possible.

What was happening to me? What was happening to my mind?
I ran to him, I ran desperately. Each time I met him again, he escaped among the undergrowth. I continued chasing him. I shouted. I felt so perturbed that I wouldn't stop up to catch him.

Comencé a gritar.

I ran, ran and ran up I stumbled and began to fall across a slope. I could feel the branches and the rocks hitting on my back while I was falling. I thought it would never stop. Suddenly the floor was over and I was on the edge of a cliff. I was only sustained by roots. My desesperation was terrible. I tried to climb up through the roots but I slipped more and more. I believed it would be the end, but suddenly I saw a hand that came to help me.
At the beginning  I thought it was the hand of the strange man who seemed to be my father, but it wasn't. It was Locke. He had spotted me in the jungle.
With big effort, he finally managed to climb me

When I was better, we sat to chat for a while. I asked him for the rest of the survivors. He told me they were thirsty, hungry and waiting for a leader. He mentioned it while he was looking at me. I stared him for a moment and told him I could not be a leader. I didn't have what it took.

Locke asked me what I was doing there. I told him I was chasing something or someone, but it couldn't be there. It was impossible.
He asked me how I would describe it as doctor. I told him those were the effects of a post traumatic shock. Coupled with no more than two hours of sleep. But I felt it wasn't an hallucination. I felt it was real, and it scared me. I thought I was getting mad.
Locke told me that he didn't believe in magic, but he had seen the heart of the island and what he had seen had been wonderful. He meant that everything could be possible in that island.
He stood up to go to the beach and I was gonna go with him, but he told me I had to stay there. I had to find what I was chasing and finish with that.
This was the only way to solve the mistery. It was the only way to return with the rest of the survivors and help them.

I was alone in the jungle. Night came and I lit a campfire. The jungle noises made old memories came to my mind.
I remembered why I was in that island. The reason why I had gotten on that plane.
In LA I had argued with my father and he had flown to Australia. My mother blamed me because of it and asked me to bring him back. I didn't want to do it, I felt I had done the right thing. But she insisted.
When I arrived to Sidney I learned that my father was lost. He had left his belongings in a hotel. Everything was so strange. Soon, I was told that a body had appeared.
I went to the morgue. The man who had devalued me so many times. The man who didn't believe on me. That man with who I had argued so many times. He was there, within that body bag.

I had a mix of feelings. Pain, anger, anguish. My last conversation with my father had been a discussion. Now, I had him there, in that cold stretcher. We weren't gonna argue any more.

The feeling of anguish overwhelmed me again. I began to mourn unable to contain myself. My father had died in Australia.
Then, What was I chasing in that island?
Tenia una mezcla de sentimientos. Dolor, bronca, angustia.

Suddenly, the sound of ices hitting in a glass of whisky surprised me. I took a stick with fire and began my chasing again.
The sound brought me to a cave. Within the cave I found the element most wanted for the survivors, water!. A little waterfall within it.
I also found rests of things that had fallen from the plane, and a piece of it too.

And among the rest of the plane, something that I never thought I would see again. Perhaps the reason for my journey that day. The coffin of my father.

I remembered the odyssey I had suffered at the airport when the employee said they couldn't send the body of my dad because there were some paperwork to fix yet. I remember that I discussed with that girl to try to convince her because I just couldn't go on waiting. I wanted to return to LA and finally bury my father.
I seemed that everything was fixed. My father was gonna fly with me in the plane.
Something told me that he had not. I took courage and opened the drawer...

There was nothing within it. NOTHING. The outrage was such that I took a stick and began smashing the drawer. The noise should have been heard everywhere.

I was devastated. I had been cheated.
Once I downloaded all my anger I decided to return to the beach. I didn't know why that image of my father had appeared to me, neither if it had been an image. The only thing I knew was that thanks to it I had found water.

When I arrived to the beach everybody was arguing. With a shout I catched their attention.
I felt the necessity to make them reflect. They had to understand that in that way we weren't gonna survive. Five days had passed from the crash and nobody had come to rescue us. What if they never come?
We should stop fighting and blaming others. We had to organize us. I had found fresh water. Everybody had to collaborate to bring it to the beach or look for a way to help. I stared at Sawyer when I said it.
A week ago, we were strangers. Now, we were there, and we had to survive. If we could not live together, we were gonna die alone.

Nada había en su interior. Nada.

Estaba destruido. Me habían engañado.

Y si no podíamos vivir juntos, íbamos a morir solos.

Everybody listened to me with attention and apparently I had achieved mobilized them to do the things in other way.

I sat in front of the fire and Kate approached to me with some water. She asked me what I had done in the jungle. I said I had fixed some things.
I told her that my father had died in Sidney. She told me she was sorry

It had been a day too long. I wished I could rest a bit
Había sido un día demasiado largo. Esperaba poder finalmente descansar un poco.
